The "kitty" is also about thirty years old. (I remember when my cousins were crazy about her when I was 16.)
Nope, Hello Kitty doesn't need to say Hi to me. LOL
But you go right ahead and be crazy about it, and, if you get bicycle tires that leave Hello Kitty imprints in the dirt, post a picture. (My SIL has some of those.)
